Venue

theChâteau.

One estate, one long weekend, and a proper distance from everywhere — in the best sense of it. Here is what is worth knowing before you book anything.

Tucked away in the sun-drenched hills of the Lot, this stately 17th-century château feels like a place time forgot. Stone walls that have witnessed centuries of history now stand ready to welcome you, framed by rolling countryside and the quiet beauty of the French southwest. With the entire estate ours for the celebration, every garden path, golden-lit terrace, and hidden corner becomes part of the story.

The vows are said at the village church, then it is about ten minutes down the road to the château for drinks, dinner and dancing.

Address and directions to come in the invitation.

Getting there

flying in.

Three airports serve the valley and none of them is next door, so it is worth weighing a cheaper flight against a longer drive at the other end.

On the road

renting a car.

We recommend renting a car. Pick one up at whichever airport you land in and keep it for the whole trip — the valley is worth having wheels for anyway.

Book it early. Automatic transmissions are the first thing to go from French rental fleets, so if nobody in your party drives a manual, reserve as soon as your flights are settled.

Before you choose the car, read our note on parking and the country roads in the FAQ. It changes what you will want to be driving.
