you might wonder.
Everything we think you'll want to know before the weekend, starting with the question we hear most: what to wear.
château formal.
The short version: long or midi dresses and elegant jumpsuits, or a tailored suit with a tie. Any colour that suits the occasion, except white, ivory, black and neon. Shoes that can handle grass and gravel.
We're celebrating in a French country château with a garden setting, so we'd love everyone polished and elegant — think a romantic European wedding rather than black-tie stiff. Our wedding colours are sage green, dusty rose, burgundy and olive green, but you do not need to wear them!
Women
Floor-length gowns, sophisticated midi or maxi dresses, or elegant formal jumpsuits. Think a flowing floral or solid gown, a satin midi, or an off-the-shoulder dress.

- Florals and rich solid colours
Please avoid
- Casual sundresses

Men
A suit in classic European wedding style — polished and tailored without feeling rigid. Lighter linen or wool suits are perfect in the warm weather.
Lovely choices

Please avoid
- Black suit or tuxedo

Colours
Wear any colour that suits the occasion, with four exceptions: white and ivory belong to the bride, and please skip black and neon. Florals, soft pastels and rich jewel tones all suit the garden.
Shoes
The ceremony is in an old stone church and the reception spreads across the château's lawns and gravel paths. Stilettos sink; block heels, wedges and elegant flats don't. A comfortable pair for the dance floor is never a bad idea.
The weather
Late May in the Lot is usually warm in the afternoon and cool once the sun goes down. Bring a wrap, shawl or light jacket for the evening — we'll be outside for part of it.
At the church
The ceremony is in a working village church. Nothing strict is asked of you, but a shawl or jacket over bare shoulders is a thoughtful touch while we're inside.
everything else.
Are children invited?
We've planned the weekend with grown-ups in mind, and given the long journey, we expect most guests will leave little ones at home. If that isn't possible for you, of course we understand. Just include them in your RSVP headcount and names so we can plan a meal and a seat for them.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, there's parking on site at both the church and the château. The country roads are very narrow at times, so please be careful. We recommend renting a car that is as small as possible but still has enough space for your luggage.
Have you registered anywhere?
Your presence and energy are the gift. If you would still like to contribute, everything is on our registry page.
What about photography?
Please keep phones tucked away during the ceremony; a professional photographer will be capturing it. After that, shoot to your heart's content, and feel free to share your photos with us. We would love to see them!
